One other note about these chapters. Love Lawrie's response to the whole emergency and her heroic efforts that save her own neck until reality hits. I noticed AF sleeping in here, when she mentions that Lawrie got to Farthing Fee at 20 to 5 and decided not to wait for the bus because it was too lonely, but when the bus goes by her a short time later it's full up, though there was no mention of her walking by any people.

I realize it sets up the plot, but it's a logical lapse.
