People are starting to co-ordinate nominations for the 2014 Yuletide fic exchange.

Eligibility has changed this year, however, so people can only nominate 3 fandoms.

There's a LJ post devoted to general nomination discussions here. If you want to co-ordinate Marlows-specific nominations, feel free to comment below.

The Marlows books usually show up in Yuletide, as many of you know much better than I, having written fic for much longer! But sometimes the character list is not as extensive as it might be, so if you would like to offer/receive Marlows fic for Yuletide this year, do consider making a nomination. You'll need an AO3 account to do so.

Edit: it's worth noting that for AO3 purposes, the historical novels are a separate fandom from the 20th-century set books.

I've been thinking of requesting Rowan, Lawrie and/or Nicola, so would definitely be interested to hear if anyone is planning to nominate.

I've only really got one open nomination slot, which is looking increasingly like being the Marlows. schwarmerei1 below is interested in Nicola, Jan and Miranda. I'm tempted to nominate Robert Anquetil (*suspects Particular Interests are showing, adjusts clothes*) and Patrick Merrick so I could cover Rowan and Lawrie too.

I'm still shuffling around my own nominations, so may yet have room for the Marlows (or something else that interests you) and will keep you posted about where that game of musical chairs ends.

I'm not too bothered about character nominations for the Marlows: I think I can work with pretty much all of the characters as a writer (Lawrie might be the exception, but I should stretch myself, and if I were to land a recip. who wanted a RtN crossover, of course *grin*), but nominating Anquetil means I can request Traitor fic with a clear conscience. And I have a weakness for Patrick POV aykbob.

Do you think crossover requests are especially likely? I was planning to skip Yuletide this year but am being tempted back at the moment by the notion of a Marlovian Renaissance -- I know I wouldn't be comfortable writing crossovers for this fandom, though (definitely not knocking them at all; I know you and others have done so! It's just not my territory). So I'm very interested in whether current Yuletide-interest centres on Marlows-plus or just straight Marlows.*

*...although not necessarily straight Marlows. ;)

I'm interested in reading and writing both crossover and non-crossover Marlows (though not, as you say, necessarily straight Marlows *grin*). I usually put a crossover option in my Dear Writer letters, in case anybody else shares my peculiar convictions about the ultimate congruency of all mid-20th century British fictional universes, but I'd be delighted to receive and write non-crossover Marlows fic too. I can't speak for others, but I think generally the attitude is either/both is good.

I couldn't write a crossover I don't think. Well unless, someone requests one with Josephine Pullen-Thompson pony books!

However, despite the incredibly intimidating company* in this fandom, I'll risk it and make Marlows both an offer and a request.

*I'm used to TV fandom -- we're less literary! ;-)

I don't really feel I can expect crossovers as assigned fic from anyone. I may suggest a crossover idea or two in my letter but I'll certainly have plenty of prompts that are straight non-crossover Marlows and would be delighted with a Marlows-only fic.

Not that there was a doubt as to eligibility but I just checked my nomination tagset (one of my choices is borderline) and Marlows is ticked off and in!
