I always link it in my mind with Andrea in the Punchbowl Farm books saying why couldn't she just be a model for a few years and then marry Charles. It seems out of character but I think there must have been a lot of young women who felt that way. (Andrea decides against that plan, however, and does end up planning to go to university, though I don't think we ever hear any more about it.)
