True, but I find Mrs Marlow's attitude slightly odd. Peter and Nicola are allowed to spend a really big sum of money without supervision, retrospectively told that they have done wrong, but we are left with the position that she can't do anything to right the wrong. Since (as in The Thuggery Affair) she is interventionist enough to dictate exactly what Lawrie must wear to go to the library, you would think she wouldn't hesitate to say, no, Lawrie must be cut into the deal.
