Oh, that's dreadful, I haven't seen it, but how stupid .... and even if that was what illustrator sent in, presumably there's and editor of some kind even for a re-print who knows the text?! Kaye Webb would surely turn in her grave!

It's made me think about what would be a good cover ...

I do like the 1970s Puffin one with Tim and the pears and Pippin in the distance - sets it up well - and the school looks very like my grammar school did, which amuses me.
