I've always loved the idea of these Enid Blyton schools which are 'terribly exclusive'. There is a pleasing suggestion that girls don't have to play lacrosse, or at least are not judged on their lacrosse skills; and though being judged on your family money is obviously immoral, it probably led to a nicer atmosphere in the school than games-fascism.
