I love AF's portrayal of Poley - his smiling nastiness sends shivers down my spine, especially his casual remarks about the heads on sticks. He is unambiguously evil in these scenes. Nicholas seems so very vulnerable at this point; more like the 11 year old he is supposed to be.

I wondered if AF had Poley in mind when she created that other double-agent, Foley - the similarity of names struck me.
