Well, despite the references to TV etc, they're still essentially a pre pop culture generation, so they are steeped in literary and Biblical references - and the practices and rituals of Anglicanism at home and school, which don't depend on belief - and are accustomed to their forms of non-sporting amusement being primarily verbal (theatre, reading). Also, English literature seems to be taught seriously at Kingscote.
