I love this point! Yes, that makes a lot of sense of her touchiness about Ginty's conduct, both in private and (later, and worse) in public.
(I'm a Ginty fan but, while I think it was rotten of Rowan -- especially not telling their mother she'd pressured her into it, though I quite see that by Rowan's own moral code, she'd done nothing wrong -- it's not a completely quelling offence in my eyes. The Rowan moments I like in later books rehabilitate her for me.)
