Yes! I always feel like a bit of a rebel for liking Ginty so much, as I'm sure AF would have disapproved.
I think it's interesting that Ann (another middle child, though not like the stereotype of one at all) is really something of a worrier too, much like Ginty. Maybe she channels it all into her faith and her religious practice, and that's how she copes with anxieties about her place in the family, possible inadequacies in relation to older siblings, etc.? Whereas Ginty doesn't have anything like that.
