It was a great place to grow up - we were really free to wander at that time, which was before the '82 war - but I remember the tiny size of the library coming as a bit of a shock when I moved there aged 7... I think I read my way through just about the whole junior sector - including the Malory Towers and St Clare's books...
But then at 11 I went as a scholarship girl to an anglo-argentine boarding school for three years... so after that, school stories took on a different angle ! It was totally bilingual, so echoes of the Chalet School...
