Yes, amazingly Forest writes a book with a never-explained not very charismatic, totally unromantic-seeming relationship between two much older characters at the heart of it, for teenagers, and somehow it's wonderful. I'd love to know how she sold it to her editor ("well, it's all about the older sister marrying a grumpy middle-aged man" "no, we never really find out why" "a lot of it's also about his kids" "we never really understand them clearly either" "oh yes, and they're much younger than the target readership"...)
I guess the truth is she didn't have to sell it to her editor, she just wrote the book.
