Antonia Forest fans

I tend to see Kingscote as a bit of a contrast with the Chalet School. Kingscote is mostly middle/upper middle class girls whose parents expect to send them to boarding school, but not necessarily to university. The Chalet School has a lot of scholarship girls from more humble backgrounds, but unless there's an absolute reason for them leaving school as soon as possible, it seems that a large portion of the English girls tend to either go into nursing or go to university or teacher training college.
