I suppose it is possible that she didn't find Oxford quite as intellectually challenging as she'd hoped, or was stuck with a tutor she didn't particularly like. But to marry just because Oxford wasn't ideal, against all the advice she's getting, seems extremely odd. Surely, there has to be more - something about Edwin that really appeals to her - it's just hard to see exactly what it is.
