I was spoilt forever for the Dream by a fab anarchic RSC/Barbican production in which Puck was a bored rock superstar of the fairy world and the fairy giving the "Either I mistake your shape and making quite; Or else you are that shrewd and knavish sprite Call'd Robin Goodfellow" speech all on one breath and rising pitch, with him looking bored and mouthing "yadda, yadda" culminating with her whipping out her autograph book with a high pitched squeal when Puck said "Thou speak'st aright."
I'm sure Lawrie would have loved doing something like that, had Kempe let her.
