I thought they might be asked to because they (or Edwin on Nicola's identification) pointed him out to the policemen. Uncle Gerry has kicked Nicola hard enough to knock her down--though in response to inadvertently grabbing her concealed knife, if that makes any difference--would that be an arrestable offence?
