So you're a Catholic yourself? Do you know why AF was so attracted? Was her family perhaps not very religious, but she wanted something deeply spiritual and maybe latched onto the religion of friends, or did she specifically choose Catholicism? I can see that she'd be attracted to the oldest version of Christianity (unless you go Greek or Russian Orthodox), being so conservative.
