Hi all. I blogged this week about bits and pieces including AF and fanfic of, and had a tweet back saying how lovely it would be to have a reader's guide to Antonia Forest fanfic. So I've put together an Antonia Forest fanfic guide with fics from Trennels, Archive of our Own, drabbles and Yuletide, categorised into Drabble, Yueltide and short fic, 'straightforward', missing scenes, future lives, crossovers, supporting characters, slash and AU.

Hope it's useful , and if I've missed some out, please let me know! Muchas gracias to all the writers, am trimmensely grateful.

Thanks for your work on this. There's some recent stuff up at the AO3, by legionseagle: this Wimseyverse crossover (http://archiveofourown.org/works/3334643) and this (http://archiveofourown.org/works/3269168) hilarious look at Uncle Alex tearing the Official Secrets Act to shreds. There's a new drabble (http://archiveofourown.org/works/3327143) by [livejournal.com profile] nnozomi too. Sorry if you just haven't got round to these, an indexer's work is never done.

I think 'End of Summer' might be miscategorized under 'slash', by the way, however you define that term: either I'm being Really Dozy, or that's a gen story with possible very gentle het romance undertones! (You didn't mean this one (http://archiveofourown.org/works/620707) instead, did you?)

Hmmm... are you defining "slash" as anything with a romantic element? In fanfic circles, it's almost always used to mean same-sex romantic/sexual themes, and usually of the male/male variety. (As opposed to femslash, which is what most people would, I think, call Jan/Miranda.)

I wonder if it might be better to leave out that category altogether, as there's so much overlap with other categories?

Still, a very useful resource. Thank you for your work.

You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed 'The Parting Glass' (and The Charioteer)!

Wimseyverse crossover

This is actually just a message to Legionseagle, because I tried to comment on your site but couldn't figure out how: that Wimsey crossover was the very first piece of fanfiction I ever read. Usually I avoid fanfiction out of some vague fear of having an unwanted idea of a character embedded in my brain, but I was sooo tempted by the subject and then I looked at the comments and saw there was Kipling and couldn't resist. And it was awesome!

One of these days I would like to talk to you about The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances and its take on The Gardener. I like the idea but have Issues with the way it was handled.

That would be fascinating, yes. I very much enjoyed those episodes; I think they were among the best of the New Who for all sorts of reasons.

Forester48, who wrote Esther's Term, has been posting as biskybat for a while. Her journal is here: http://biskybat.livejournal.com/

You have to do a *lot* of trawling back through it, but Esther's Term is in there along with another full-length Marlows novel about Rowan, a series of 'Holiday Snaps' about Nicola and Patrick (they're really good) and some Marlows/Famous Five crossover fanfic. She also wrote a fab story about Jan and Miranda, but that one's not in there.

Great list, btw!

I just read the Giles at Port Wade one you linked to - I'd never seen it before; it's really good. I never took to Giles, but liked him more in this.

New Term is the title of Biskybat's story about Rowan and the start of the feud with Lois.

I'm not intending to be critical and it may have been mentioned before, but there is a bit of an error at the start of the book. In Autumn Term Rowan says 'Lois can't act. Se used to practically die in IIIA ik kemp asked her to be a banished man'. But in New Term Lois is show as arrivng when the are both in Lower IVth. I did enjoy the story though.

Excellent, thanks. For some reason I thought I was on facebook and could just click 'like'. Anyway, 'like'.

Thank you; some of these I hadn't known or remembered - and coming across my one and only attempt (which I had almost forgotten about) was a blast from the past too.

Just Thank You Very Much

I have wondering about this myself. This is a great treasure. I have been trying to create a timeline to order the fanfic along with the actual novels, but I had no idea how much fanfic was available.

Thank you!

Not sure if you realise, but the link in the first post just links to the latest post in your blog (which is now no longer the fan fiction post), rather than being a permanent link to it. It would a shame if got lost in the future so that we couldn't look back on it to refer to.
