appears to be a scam going on

A site called ebooks tree appears to have taken a large number of fanfiction works and be offering them for sale/ reading for a subscription. I noticed some names familiar from here.
I haven't check that the contents of the works are the same because I'm not prepared to give them my credit card details.

Don't think it's only happened to large fandoms with thousands of hits. I've had about 6 fics stolen from my account.

Yes, two of mine (swallows and amazons) have been nicked. If you've got anything up I would advise checking. Search on the user name you posted under and don't give them personal detail. Also, you do NOT need a lawyer to complain!

They've nabbed at least 50 of mine, taking them off my website complete with cover art. I've served a DCMA takedown notice and am awaiting developments.

Mine appears to have been taken down - no actual communication or apology. They seem to have works by commercially published authors on there as well. Probably not an issue for Jane Austen but may affect others more.
