I have attempted my first and last crossover. The Marlowverse has briefly brushed against the parallel universe of the Archers and a Marlow has found herself in Ambridge. My username should link to it.
Definitely not. Rob is clearly an utter ratbastard and is going to do to Helen what he's obviously done to Jess. Not sure how he's managed to wangle the test results!
Yes, feeling slightly guilty at comparing Giles to The Evil One, hopefully it's just a superficial resemblance for the sake of Giles' future wife. I don't think he has wangled the test results, he just hasn't shown them to Helen. And she'll never see his pay slips showing the CPS payments.
I got the impression this morning that she had seen the results. He didn't say anything when he opened the letter and she said something like "well, that's it then".
I did say to Mum the other week that I thought he'd use a swab from Henry to fix things.
At least Helen and Ian will be able to console each other when things go Horribly Wrong with their respective relationships and Kate has realised Charlie's not interested in her.
According to someone in the Archers group on Ravelry, one of the scriptwriters has confirmed on Facebook that he isn't the father. Apparently he was going to be but they thought that would bring the storyline to a resolution so soon. If this is true, I am Very Annoyed about it.
Hmmm. I have felt myself drifting away from the Archers recently and if they're going to keep putting contrived plot changes in like that I think the drift will accelerate. The whole RuthandDavid are moving/oh no they're not was bad enough.
Back when Ruth nearly ran off with the Brookfield Cow man, I stopped listening for several years. I used to belong to the uk.media.radio.archers newsgroup and we had a thing about the random personality changes characters underwent. We put it down to the Personality Transplant Fairy.
We all know that Rob was seeing Jess, and that he is a manipulative git. If he isn't the father, then it's almost admitting that Jess is a nutjob and Rob is all sweetness and light, when we know he isn't and she was pushed into the behaviour.
The new editor seems to think that TA needs to me more like Eastenders, failing to recognise that they are worlds apart and fans of one are not necessarily fans of the other. If things get any worse, I'm going to make sure Ma complains to them and not to me!
I recall someone on umra in days of yore (*waves*) quoting Brian Collingridge saying "Ah yes, that was when I was going through my change of scriptwriter..."
