So... I spent an idle moment or three anagramming characters from our favourite ARTISAN OF NOTE (who else but ANTONIA FOREST) and it's amazing what one can discover that one doesn't already know from actually reading the books.

After all, we're told from the very beginning that NICK MARLOW likes to WORK IN CALM.

ROWAN MARLOW has invariably got the MORAL WAR WON.

Further on in the series, we discover that for KAREN GABRIEL ANSTRUTHER MARLOW, MARRIAGE BANKROLLS A NEWER TRUTH.

The anagram gods also somehow know that LAWRIE MARLOW can be reduced to WAIL, ROAR, MEWL.

She can of course object and point out that she's in fact LAWRENCE SYBIL MARLOW, but it doesn't change the fact that she's A WIRY LEMON SCREWBALL.


P.S.: One must take anagram wisdom with a pinch of salt though. I draw the line at GINTY MARLOW being all WOMANLY GRIT.

OK so I cheated and used an anagram generator on the internet, but MIRANDA WEST is an anagram of I WANT DREAMS, and A SWARMED NIT...

I try to start with pen and paper but invariably resort to an anagram generator to look for more options.

And oh, Miranda does indeed want dreams... put MIRANDA RUTH WEST and JANICE D SCOTT together, and the CHARMED ATTRACTION JUST WIDENS.

The two names together also COUNTERACT A JADED TWIN'S MIRTH:
