I've finished typing up my first chapter but can't get it to the right place. Actually I'm not even sure where the right place is (My Journal?) Is there anyone who can post me some very simple instructions? Repeat very simple. I would be very grateful. at present chapter one is sitting in an ordinary microsoft office works document.

Hmmm - simplest way is to choose 'select all' from the 'edit' menu, then 'copy' from the same menu, then paste it into the 'Entry' window on the 'My LJ' page. This would lose any italics, though, and I can't imagine any AF-inspired piece not having some italics somewhere! You could put the italics back by hand by putting <i> before the bit you want italicised and </i> afterwards but I can see that might be a nuisance!

Otherwise, go to 'File' and choose 'Save As' and then 'Web Page' from the list of available save formats - then, go to 'View' and see whether it offers 'HTML Source' as an option. I know it does in Word but am less sure about the Works processor. If it does, you should be able to cut and paste from there, and keep your formatting.
