are there any other bbc radio 4 listeners on here, who have been listening to the book of the week about the infamous life of emma, lady hamilton, been wondering what precisely nicola made of this rather scandalous element of her hero's life?! we know she has a real passion/obsession for nelson, but is it hero worship - and if so surely this amounts to something of a fall from grace, and does she just pointedly ignore it? or does she view him far more as an interesting historical figure, in which case she perhaps counts emma as just a part of the culture of the time ('nell gwynne and her oranges syndrome', as my fabulous a-level history teacher used to refer to it)?
or should i just give up on thinking that early in the morning?!!
